Traffic control, Cadillac Square, Detroit, c. 1920.I think we often forget the seriousness behind these kind of arrangements. Now, they might seem humorous remnants, but at the time, they were signs of development. I remember reading somewhere recently that those doll-looking, robot-acting, traffic control girls of Pyongyang have now vanished.
