A scale model of Illegal Architecture (in 1:40) by Wang Shu and Hsien Ying-Chun. Now displayed at the Asian Urban Portraits Exhibits pavilion in the 2011-12 Hong Kong and Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale. The project, consisting of both architects’ technically illegal but in reality quite sensible designs (other on the roof top, other in between the buildings) for an existing city block, utilizing used furniture and recycled objects, as “an homage to the phenomenal illegal constructions throughout Taiwan”.
